ACI (Adriatic Croatia International Club) is a company offering essential services to different types od vessels in their marinas along the Adriatic coast. The company was started in 1983, as an answer to the more pronounced nautical presence in the Adriatic. Marinas were opened close to big towns along the coast, small towns on the islands or in the oases of untouched nature, which were ennobled and preserved. Today, the ACI system has 21 marinas from the northernmost - in Umag to the southernmost - in Dubrovnik. Substantial number of our marinas proudly display “European Blue Flag” – an eco-award for safety and sea cleanliness.

Boat owners confide their vessels to two marinas. The smaller one is owned by the Admiral Hotel – check the web page or call the hotel directly for the details, it has 200 moorings.
The larger by ACI Marina Opatija with 400 moorings is located a few kilometres west from central Opatija in the village of Ičići.
The third option is a marina in Volosko, an authentic fishing village of old narrow houses and two lighthouses, picturesque roofs and chimneys, only one kilometer from the center of Opatija. On the geographic location: longitude – 45°20,9' N, latitude – 14°19,6' E and with surface of the port area: 28.091 m2, of which 3.150 m2 of land, and 24.941 m2 aquatorium it is a small port able to host approximately 50 smaller and 5 bigger boats. And there is also the Opatija city port consists of a pier and a protected pool. The pool is crowded out with the craft of Opatija’s residents, and one really ought to avoid sailing into it. On the outer part of the pier of the city harbur is a petrol station at which boats can take on all kinds of fuel.
The depth of sea enables unhindered access to all sorts of craft (from 4 to 6 m). In the center of the quay is the Harbur Master’s Office, where customs and immigration formalities can be seen to.
Sailors who bring their craft by road can run them into the water at all of these localities. The Opatija area is covered by Radio Rijeka on Channel 24, and a forecast is broadcasted at 7.45, 13.45 and 19.45 every day.
FIUMANKA – a traditional regatta taking place the weekend around 15 June or St Vitus Day, who is the saint patron of the town Rijeka. On the web page that is also in English, you’ll details on the “Fiumanka 2009.” and the sign-up forms for the one in 2010. Route goes from Rijeka to Omisalj on the island Krk and back.
Sailing club “3. MAJ” organizes “Primorska regatta”, starting at Rijeka harbour and going all the way to the town Cres on the island Cres and back the next day. You’ll find the information on the regatta (in Croatian) here. Sailing club also organizes 3 weeks long summer sailing course at very acceptable prices.
Adriatic Croatia International (ACI) Club was founded in 1983. as a reply to ever growing demands of boats sailing the Adriatic. Apart form providing general services, such as maintenance, berth rental, water, oil and electricity refills, ACI Club became very active in organizing different regattas all over Croatian coast.
For example the ACI Women & Men Match Race took place at the ACI Marina Cres (north Adriatic, Kvarner region) from 22nd to 24th May 2009 with women and men crews racing together in a match race. The race is specific for its double scoring system. The most important event organized by YCC and ACI certainly is the ACI Match Race Cup, a part of the most prestigious Swedish Match Tour.
International Sailing Regatta CARNIVAL CUP takes place in February around the time of the International Carnival in Rijeka (40 days before easter). It is an OPTIMIST class regatta for children.
