Non Croatian hunters who import weapons are required to present their passport, license to carry weapons, national hunting license to obtain a hunting card which enables them to hunt in Croatia.

The whole North-Adriatic and mountain region of Croatia also known as Primosko-goranska county is one big hunting ground divided in three natural parts – mountain, island and coastal. Hunting ground cover the surface of 347.454 ha and are divided into 55 hunting grounds. Most of the hunting gunda are in the hands of local hunting associations.

Numerous wild animal species like bear, lynx, wolf, capercaillie, deer, boar and the mountain goat live here honoring the laws of nature. Dear and boar are the most common inhabitants of forests, but one of the most attractive animals is woodcock. Rabbit, rock partridge and pheasant are interesting to hunt in this region. This region is accessible throughout the year.

The island hunting areas are the only place where you'll find axis deer and you'll also have the possibility to hunt fallow deer and moufflon. From smaller animals hare, wild rabbit, rock partridge, pheasant and woodcock are regular or winter inhabitants.

In the heart of  the biggest Croatian peninsula is the Motovun oak forest with an underground empire of truffles. And when the tourist season is over you can peacefully start the hunt for deer, boar, pheasant, woodcock, quail and wild duck. Traditional guests of Istrian hunting associations know how much training and skill of dogs and hunters is necessary to catch a rock partridge, quail, gray partridge or woodcock. On the coast try you luck in hunting a moufflon.
